. This is a very long and complete nasab (lineage) showing his descent from the Prophet Muhammad through his daughter Fatimah and her husband Ali.
He was a highly regarded scholar and historian, most famous for his monumental work "تاريخ ابن الوردي" (Tārīkh Ibn al-Wardī)
, a comprehensive history of the world from creation to his own time. The book is valuable for its detail and coverage, particularly concerning the Mamluk period in Egypt.
It[SQ]s important to note that while his lineage is impressive, he is primarily known and remembered for his historical achievements rather than his ancestry. When discussing him, the focus is generally on his contributions to historiography.
